Super Bowl ratings were up slightly this year overall, but down for the 8th straight year in adults 25-54 (34.2, down from 34.6). For the first time in five years, the network showing the 2020 Super Bowl has sold out their national ads early. That's at the rate of more than $5 million for a 30-second commercial. Variety suggests "advertisers have found new appeal in the live telecast in an era when most of TV’s best-known programming has a significant component of on-demand viewership."
